meeting Waag people

Yesterday I meet Rob van Kranenburg and Lucas Evers from the Waag Society at Nieuwmarkt. A cool and creepy place at the same time, having had executions until the early XIX. century outside at the square, and having brought the corpses in for dissection on the very narrow steps I walked yesterday as well.

I immediately thought – a permanent installation by Günther von Hagens would be appropriate here, with real corpses acting in place of both the executed person about to be dissected, and the surgeons as well.

It was very exciting to talk to Rob & Lucas, they were very helpful, showing me the ways to get online if needed – they really know what a travelling net junkie needs to have his fix. This includes their office, or the debalie cafe, where they have free WiFi, and some power plugs as well.

Next week they’ll take me to the Waag’s Fab Lab at their Atelier, where they have rapid prototyping equipment
